Fresh off the strength of its inaugural runway presentation for Fall/Winter 2012’s “NOSTALGIA” at Tokyo Midtown, Japan’s PHENOMENON displays a comprehensive collection that is as deserving of the newfound runway presence as it is its street roots. While the brand can often be characterized by bold and in-your-face prints and patterns, the Grey Cotton Mixed Crew Neck SWT augments the label’s basics segment. Built atop a customary heather crewneck sweater, attention to detail is paid via a reinforced neck line and – most notably – the inclusion of two oversized hand warmer pockets on the front. The exposed pockets are sealed off by contrasting, taped zippers effectively solving those first world problems of mistaking your crewneck for having the pocket capacity of a hoodie.
